There are a lot of great contractors out there that are not the best in sales, but excellent craftsmen, and I could be one of those. they are professional, honest and trustworthy of hiring. Knowledge, experience and manners count only if that experience was applied correctly. We at Campara Construction love our customers and understand that some contractors have been a nightmare for them to work with and they may have had a terrible experience by those. All right, let me get to the point for the need to write about this and I will try to be as short as I can.
I got a call today from my potential customer (referred by a neighbor that we did some work) in Matthews, NC to build a covered roof over an existing beautiful deck in the back of her house. She loves our proposal details and price and we hope to touch bases soon. The reason she is not ready to proceed now was having an issue with a handyman person she hired to do some interior steps and railing work and due to inexperience it turned out to be a nightmare. She had found a specialist to finish the rest of the work and it seems that everything will be back to normal, except that calling back a true professional to fix up somebody's mess is costing more and puts a strain on her budget.
I have seen so many companies advertise themselves as "professional work", "leave no mess behind", etc. Those things are expected by the customer, not something that makes y'all better than others!!!
Number one, help customers achieve their goals and put yourself in their position. The reason a contractor is hired is to go beyond and meet or exceed their expectations in a least invasive manner. Customers expect great quality of work, clean up the site, experience and knowledge of materials and procedures, open and clear communication, quick response and problem solving and any issues in a timely manner, reasonable cost, the minimum inconvenience with their living there (since most of the times the house is not vacant), payment schedule and trust. That is the reason for our Campara Construction logo "quality-integrity-trust". We are transparent, love our work and also love to see a happy customer when the work is completed. Most of our business is made via "word of mouth" referrals and we appreciate you and respect thinking of us when talking to others about us. all we ask at the end is an honest review of handling your project so we can always improve and make it the best experience.
